 Need an Apostille?

  • The country where the document will be used. The apostille will only be valid in countries that are members of the Hague Convention of 1961.
  • The type of document. Not all documents require an apostille. Some common documents that do require an apostille include birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and academic transcripts.
  • The issuing authority. The apostille must be issued by the issuing authority of the document. The document was created in California, and it will be processed in California.
  • The requirements of the foreign country. Some countries may have additional requirements for the apostille, such as having the document translated into the local language.
